"Wind, wind, gently sway,
Blow Curdken's hat away;
Let him chase o'er field and wold,
Til my locks of ruddy gold
Now astray and hanging down
Be combed and plaited in a crown."
This illustration was created to accompany "The Goose Girl" by the Brothers Grim. The ink drawing and watercolor were worked on separate pieces of paper. This allows the black linework to remain crisp and clear, while the watercolor can be adjusted independently. The color is purposefully off-registration to invoke the old-fashioned nostalgia of fairytales.
